Flume Deductible Coverage Program
The following terms are only applicable to Nationwide policyholders who enrolled in the Flume + Nationwide loss prevention program and accepted these terms and conditions after November 1, 2025. Flume is committed to helping homeowners reduce the risk and cost of water damage. If you install and properly use a Flume Smart Water Sensor provided through your insurance carrier’s loss prevention program, and still experience property damage as a direct result of a Covered Water Supply Line Leak, Flume may reimburse you for the amount of your homeowner’s insurance deductible, up to a maximum of $1,000, subject to the terms and conditions below (the “Program”).For purposes of this Program, a Covered Water Supply Line Leak means an accidental leak or rupture from a pressurized potable water supply line located within the primary residential structure of the covered property and used to supply water to interior plumbing fixtures or appliances.Participation in this Program is not an insurance policy, warranty, or guarantee of reimbursement. The Program is offered as a voluntary promotional benefit to eligible participants and does not modify, replace, or supplement any insurance coverage provided by your homeowners insurance policy.
1. Eligibility Requirements
You may qualify for reimbursement under the Program only if all of the following conditions are satisfied.
A. Program Enrollment & Installation
- You enrolled in a loss prevention or water monitoring program offered by your insurance carrier through which you received a Flume Smart Water Sensor at no cost.
- You installed your Flume device within 10 calendar days of delivery.
- The coverage period begins on the installation date and continues for 12 months thereafter.
- Coverage applies only to the property address associated with your insurance policy and program enrollment.
B. Device Status & Configuration
At the time the property damage occurred:
- The Flume device was properly installed in accordance with Flume’s installation guidelines and instructions.
- The device was powered on, connected to Wi-Fi, and online (not offline or unpaired).
- The Flume mobile app was installed on your smartphone and notifications were enabled.
- The Home Profile within the app had been completed.
C. Leak Location and Timing
The water leak causing the property damage must meet all of the following conditions:
- The leak occurred after the Flume device’s measurement point (for example, after the water meter).
- The leak originated from a Covered Water Supply Line Leak located within the primary residential structure of the property.
- The leak first began after the Flume device was installed, activated, and connected to WiFi.
D. Insurance Requirements
At the time of the property damage:
- You were the named insured (or otherwise qualified insured) on an active homeowners insurance policy issued by a company licensed in the U.S. state where the damage occurred.
- The covered property was used for residential purposes only.
- You reported the property damage to your insurance carrier within a reasonable period of time.
After the property damage:You must provide Flume with documentation including:
- A copy of your insurance company’s written claim report.
- Documentation (such as a statement of loss or insurer correspondence) confirming:
- The insurance company paid a portion of the claim, and
- A deductible amount was applied and not waived.
- Written permission authorizing Flume to verify claim details directly with your insurance company.
2. Coverage Limitations
- Flume may reimburse only the actual deductible amount applied, up to a maximum of $1,000 per property damage loss.
- Only one reimbursement may be issued per device during any 12-month coverage period.
The Program does not apply to:
- Damage from non-plumbing or non-supply-line water sources, including but not limited to:
- Roof leaks
- Flooding
- Appliance overflows
- Groundwater intrusion
- Leaks originating from irrigation systems, sprinkler systems, drip irrigation systems, landscape watering systems, or other outdoor watering infrastructure.
- Leaks originating from plumbing located outside the primary residential structure, including but not limited to:
- Outdoor plumbing lines
- Hose bibs
- Yard lines
- Pool plumbing
- Detached structures
- Accessory dwelling units (ADUs)
- Underground landscape piping
- Damage caused by water entering the structure from outside the home, including water intrusion resulting from:
- Irrigation leaks
- Landscape saturation
- Groundwater migration
- Exterior drainage issues
- Leaks or water damage originating from conditions that began prior to the installation and activation of the Flume device, including pre-existing leaks or plumbing failures.
- Damage occurring before device installation or after the 12-month coverage period expires.
- Properties used for commercial or business purposes.
3. Claim Submission
Claims must be submitted by email only to:reimbursement@flumewater.comPostal mail submissions will not be accepted.Your email submission must include:
- Your full name
- Installation address
- Date of device installation
- Proof of enrollment in your insurance carrier’s program
- Proof of device delivery date
- Your insurance company’s written claim report
- Documentation confirming the deductible amount applied
- Written authorization allowing Flume to verify claim details with your insurance company
- Photographs clearly showing the location of the plumbing leak and the specific point where the leak occurred
- Photographs showing the resulting property damage
Flume reserves the right to request additional documentation reasonably necessary to verify eligibility under the Program.Flume may use device telemetry, water usage data, and system activation records to verify the timing and origin of the leak event.
4. General Terms
- Participation in the Program does not create any contractual right to reimbursement.
- Flume reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine eligibility and approve or deny reimbursement requests based on the terms of this Program.
- This Program is voluntary and may be modified, suspended, or terminated by Flume at any time without notice.
- Updated terms will be posted on Flume’s website and will indicate the last revised date.
- Continued use of your Flume device after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
- This Program does not replace homeowners insurance and is not an insurance policy.
